The Langley Help Network receives an amazing variety and quantity of food, clothing, toys, services, finances and miscellaneous supplies each year from a wide and sometimes surprising range of sources.

With our many dedicated and hard working volunteer workers, committed staff and generous donors that come from an extensive cross section of the community we form a very efficient and productive partnership. Because of that partnership, we were able, in the year 2008, to distribute well over $1,500,000.00 worth of goods and services (free of charge) to those in need in Langley, on a total budget of just over $200,000.00.

Since we do not fund raise or do any direct solicitation, we out of necessity have developed a lean, effective, and yet compassionate system of delivering needed services and products to our clients. The people of Langley increasingly trust us to provide the best possible return on their investment into the community. We are proud of what we are able to do, and constantly amazed at how it gets done! Every one of you as a donor isa vital part of the process. Without you taking the initiative to give and support this work, we would have little to distribute, and no way to distribute it!

The business people, community leaders, Churches, schools and individual citizens of the Langley’s by and large have a keen social conscience and act on that with generosity to support charities like the Langley Food Bank.

When you donate to the Langley Food Bank and Free Store, you are not just giving to a worthy charity. You really are making an investment into the community. While we do provide a free handout, our hands do not close when that transaction is completed. We, and you through us, continue to be connected to our clients. Each time assistance is provided, we are also giving respect, dignity and encouragement. This in turn often gives our clients new courage and hope to face the future, allowing for positive change to come into their lives.
 
It is an honour and a privilege to be trusted with the resources you invest through us here. We want to work hard to earn and keep that trust, and make sure we use the resources provided as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The Bible tells us that "He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God" (2 Cor. 9:10-12).
